Hi,
In last post we had seen some basic details which almost
everybody knows. Now in this post we will have a look at the things which is
unknown to most of us.
Earlier Dakor was known as Dunkpur and there is a big lake
called Gomti in Dunkpur. So Bodano, who had brought Lord Krishna with him from
Dwarka to Dakor had thrown away the idol in the Gomti lake so that soldiers and
Brahmins from Dwarka couldn’t find it. Unfortunately he got killed by soldiers
and they had also hurt left foot of the Lord Krishna Idol during the search in
the Gomti Lake. During this incident whole place was painted in red as the God
wounded in the leg little bit. Soldiers got the idol and placed in on the bank
of lake. The place where Lord Krishna got hurt is still there middle in the
Gomti lake with foot bridge built.
Story later to this once again known to all like Brahmins accepted
the agreement in which they have to left the idol in Dakor only and got gold in
return. Lord Krishna also told them that dif after 9 months to location near by
Dwarka and you will find same idol. But still Brahmins of Dwarka can’t control
themselves for whole 9 months and excavated the placed at 6 months and found
half built idol, which is not perfect.
Now above story is known to almost all the bhavik bhakts,
but 2 things which are almost not known to common people is that;
- Idol in Dwarka has no eyes. Even if they fix new eyes with any medium (glue, min etc), it drops down within a day. (why, because that idol has been excavated 3-4 months earlier than said by Lord Krishna).
- Idol which is in Dakor and which is Original one got signs of hurt in left foot, if any fortunate one got chance to touch the feet of idol in Dakor temple, one can easily feel that it is softer there, just like us – at left footsteps. Earlier, during 1960’s when there were not much restrictions, anyone can touch the feet of idol, so many people has experienced the same including my uncle who is from Dakor only.
Tip of the article : Whenever you go to Dakor, don’t forgot
to do the Pradakshina, and don’t miss
the Kesar milk and other items which are sold or given as the prasad backside
the temple in the pradakshina route. Specially don’t miss Kesar Dudh.
Tip of the article : don’t forget to visit Lakshmiji Temple
and Dunknath Mahadev Temple as these both are associated with Journy of Lord
Krishna during 1212 to 1828. Also go to the Footsteps temple which is actually
in the Gomti lake (there is small bridge over there). If you are lucky you will
see very giant turtle (almost 4-5ft long ) in the lake.
